Zurab


Zurab Jguburia was born on 1st October in 1952 in  Abkhazia. In 1970 he graduated from the Komarov Boarding-School of Physics and Mathematics in Tbilisi.      

In 1975 he graduated from the Tbilisi State University, Department of Physics. In 1980-1981 he studied at the Moscow Pedagogical  University (Present-day State Pedagogical University of Russia), in the French sector of the Department of Country Studies  specializing in the International Relations.         

In 1988-1991 he did his post-graduate correspondence course at the Kazan Institute of Chemical Technologies. He has published the scientific articles on the issues of physics and technique (8 articles). He has published  the manual of General Physics in the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) in the French language.          

In 1975-1978 he worked at Ilia Vekua Institute of Physics and Engineering of the Academy of Sokhumi.  In 1978-1980 he worked as a teacher of Physics at the Okumi secondary school.   In 1981-1985 he worked abroad, in the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville), as an expert of the Ministry of National Education and a professor of Patrice Lumumba Lycee and Vice-director of   the Department of Physics and Chemistry. In 1986-1992 he worked as Head of the Department of Science and Technology at the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia. Later he became the Head of the Department of International Relations. Simultaneously, he was a lecturer at the Gorki State University of Abkhazia, Department of Physics and Mathematics.            

From  1992 till today  Mr. Jguburia is a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia. From 1999 to April of 2004 he worked as a Consultant of the Consulate Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. 

In 2004-2008 Mr. Jguburia was elected  Member of Parliament of Georgia and  was a member of the temporary Committee of the International Relations of Parliament.                                     

In 2008-2009 he worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia,  as the Ambassador at Large.

In  2000-2010  Mr. Jguburia  published more than 15 social -political  articles on the issues of conflict resolution  (of Abkhazia)  in the Georgian and Foreign  printed  media (in Czech republic,  Hungary, Poland). He is the manager of the project and author of the books: “Conflict in Abkhazia – Myth and Reality” (2004), “Georgian Historical-Cultural Heritage in Abkhazia” (2007), “Hundred from Okumi” (2014),   “Historical-Cultural Heritage of Abkhazia/Georgia”- Second Edition (2015/2017), „Abkhazia/Georgia Cultural Heritage: the Facts, Assessments” (2018),  “Occupied Abkhazia -25” (2018).  Mishel Muskhely – Unite in Diversity.
