Nugzar Mgaloblishvili - versatile creator


	

 

Nugzar mgaloblishvili is a versatile creator. He creates various paintings, graphical, sculptural, relief and decorative works of art. He is also working successfully on scenography. He was scene painter of Sukhumi Konstantine Gamsakhurdia State Theatre, Deputy of the Georgian SSR, the Supreme Council of the Republic of Georgia and the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia. During the Soviet epoque he was a well-known Georgian  dissident, and in 2006 the Administrative Board of Tbilisi Court acknowledged him to be a victim of political repressions. In 1974  he participate in the exhibition named “Buldozernaia” after the crackdown by the government  together with the Soviet avantgardists in Moscow. This act of Vandalism came in the center of attention of the progressive society of the world. He is one of the founders of the Association of Georgian  Avantgardist Artists and has participated in numerous exhibitions held abroad. He is the author of the memorial of the well-known publicist, writer and social worker Yuri Shchekochikhin and big number of monumental or relief decorative works of the art in Sokhumi and Gagra, Bitschwinta and Adler, Sochi, Moscow and Chicago. His works are kept in the museums of Georgia and Russia, as well as in many private collections around the world.
